Abstract: Software failure in embedded systems has remained a persistent challenge for more than four decades of modern computing. In Nigeria, where embedded technologies power critical infrastructure—from medical equipment and industrial control systems to transportation, telecommunications, and financial services—the consequences of such failures can be severe. Software failure becomes especially dangerous when it occurs in life‑sustaining or mission‑critical systems without any alternative recovery mechanism.
